Survey Research

I felt that doing a survey would beneficial to my research because it would allow me to gain some of my own primary data that I could compare to the large scale secondary data I have collected. A survey is first and foremost defined as “a systematic and structured mode of conducting data, by asking people questions” (Hansen and Machin, 2013). It is also the most used method of creating data in social research . The main advantage to using a survey in this project is a simple way to produce large amounts of data in a short time span and at a low cost (Kelley et al., 2003). However, I do believe it will be difficult to gain a large amount of responses.

I want to keep the survey fairly short and to the point as I feel this will give me more of a chance in getting more responses. As people tend not to finish surveys if its going to take  to much of their time (Hansen and Machin, 2013).
